Laurel Day Camp (LDC) families
return summer after summer to enjoy a wonderful camp experience
in a nurturing atmosphere full of play and discovery. In our 27th year, we continue to create and continuously develop thoughtful activities which appeal to all age groups, from toddlers to middle school age. Our campers come from all over the United States and many other countries, to enjoy a wonderful Cape Cod family summer experience. We offer well-rounded
programs and themes which embrace the
nature and culture of Cape Cod, with an emphasis on the arts and
outdoors. We promote honesty, respect
and kindness while providing a sense of community to give our campers
confidence in a loving and safe environment, where they can play, create, and learn all day!
Our campers' daily
schedules take advantage of our two-and-a-half acre campus which begins with a beautiful arbor Friendship Garden enterance, four age appropriate playgrounds with swingsets and climbing structures, a greenhouse with flower and vegetable gardens, a Japanese Meditation Garden, peaceful paths in a wooden settings, an open field space for sports and games, a basketball/hardtop area, picnic tables for campers to enjoy their lunches outside, and a swimming
pool with changing and shower rooms. Our inside facilities include age appropriate classrooms for our campers to enjoy, a Great Room for drama and events, a library room, and an art room.
Our mission at Laurel Day Camp is to foster self-esteem and confidence and promote a sense of community; inspire a lifelong love of learning, a cultural appreciation, and environmental sensitivity and awareness; provide a strong creative base, enhanced by the inseparable integration of the arts and outdoors; provide a loving and respectful environment in which each child develops into a self-starter, an original thinker, and a perpetual learner; emphasize honesty, respect, kindness, cooperation, laughter, thoughtful resolution, positive reinforcement, tolerance, and an acceptance of difference. With consistent guidelines, structure and positive reinforcement, campers develop confidence and strong self-esteem while having fun during their summer experience.
