Karin Pearce-Small

Karin has been teaching at the Laurel School since 1987. She has taught Kindergarten, First grade, and is currently teaching the Second and Third Grade. Karin's background in Dance and Anthropology has given her a love of integrating the arts, literature, science, and social studies into themes as she and her class explore the world around them. Her additional training in reading enables her to adapt and individualize her Language Arts curriculum to meet her students' needs. She brings her love of movement into morning exercise time where the children develop physical strength and coordination, learn different ways of moving and controlling their bodies (aerobics, dance yoga), and learn to play different games, teaching them cooperation, teamwork, and self-control.
